Gram flour, also known as Chana flour, and especially popular in the name of besan flour, is used in smooth semi-liquid form while mixed with water or beaten egg to give a coat on different kinds of fries,ranging from potato, egg, fish, onion etc., and hence producing various kinds of fried food like pokara, peyaji, chop, etc.
Apart from its capacity to make enhanced fried items, it is also used as a facial exfoliate,especially popular among young women. It is prepared as a paste with water, or milk, or curd.
This is made by grinding White lentil (orid) into a fine powder. Pale white in color, Ulundu flour also known as Orid flour. This flour is commonly used for making delicious dosas, idlis and uttapams. It is also used to make savory snacks such as muruku and papadam.
